The Congregation of Brothers “Abambari Ba Jambo Brothers ” was founded by Father Jean Baptiste Rugengamanzi on 1st April, 1990 in Ndera Parish Gasabo District Kigali City.
The Abambari ba Jambo brothers is a religious-based organization active in fraternity with evangelization, charitable actions, and community capacity building. It commenced its journey in 1990. Abambari ba Jambo Brothers has enquired remarkable experience of more than 35 years in supporting vulnerable people ( across the country) to bring back their hope of life and become active normal citizens and Christians. Abambari ba Jambo Brothers embrace being an instrument through which Jesus Christ reaches out to the vulnerable and forgotten, so that whoever encounters us may see the reflection of Jesus Christ in their hearts and homes
A member of the Abambari ba Jambo, knows very well that when he follows love, he becomes the witness of that love for Christ, which makes him reconcile with Christ to become one with him among the poor, those who were ignored and among all people as he says it, in the holy written documents that say ‘Whenever you did this for the least important to these members of my family, you did it for me’(Mt 25,40). He reveals that the ignored person, needs love of people of his friends such that he can show that God loves him like others, and this can make people believe that God exists and they believe in it. It tells us the one it sends us to and when it shows the good Samaritan of kindness and it preaches to us to imitate him. (Lk 10, 25-37) even in other parts where he heals the lame on the lake of Bethesda. (Jn 5, 6-7).

Why the Congregation was formed
The primary purpose behind establishing this congregation is to pray to God for the restoration of love and to ensure that there are individuals willing to make sacrifices for the marginalized, thus affirming God’s love and encouraging all of us to love one another as He loved us. This initiative also stems from God’s will, recognizing the need to pray for those who have drifted away from God’s love and to support those who lack love.Our mission involves promoting universal love and advocating for the neglected poor, demonstrating to them the same love that God has for all of us. Through fostering a culture of love and selflessness, we aim to show solidarity with the marginalized, reflecting the love that binds us together and enabling everyone to thrive harmoniously while cherishing one another just as God has cherished us.

Inspired by Charles de Jesus, who directed his ideal of surrender to God towards identification with the poor and abandoned, who expressed his desire to feel himself a brother to every human being,” to be, in the end, “the universal brother” The Abambari ba Jambo Brother congregation was born on 1/4/1990 in Ndera Parish Gasabo District Kigali City.
